Music ringtones

Music ringtones is a category or group name for all ringtones that are actual songs. ringtones that use actual pieces of music, along with all lyrics and the entire song backing music are called music ringtones. Note that this is not a technical standard like mp3 or midi though the format of an music ringtone often is MP3 or WAV.

Music ringtones in a mp3 format requires sufficient cell phone memory as the average MP3 file weights more than 3 Megabytes. This is the reason why the MP3 ringtone function was first introduced on PDA´s. Many cell phones released in 2005 and later have sufficient memory for music ringtones. Some manufacturers also talk about real music ringtones or real tones.
